Perge

Perge, located 17km east of Antalya, is a well-preserved ancient city that offers a fascinating glimpse into Pamphylia’s past. Visitors are greeted by the impressive Roman Gate, the southern nymphaeum fountain, and the Roman baths. The long colonnaded street, with a narrow water channel, leads past the Hellenistic Gate and offers a view of the city’s grand layout.

The acropolis provides panoramic views, while the nearby aqueducts and watchtowers highlight the city's advanced infrastructure. Outside the main entrance, the 12,000-seat theater and the well-preserved stadium stand as reminders of Perge's vibrant culture.

Getting to Perge is easy via Antalya's AntRay tram or a short taxi ride. Visitors should allow at least two hours to explore the site, and a trip to the Antalya Museum offers deeper insights into the city’s past. Perge remains an active archaeological site, where excavations continue to uncover its rich history.
