Vote for Your Top Rural Tourism Project at the Rural Light Cup!

The World Rural Tourism Conference, having been successfully held for three consecutive sessions, is an international event to promote the development of world rural tourism. With the view to help develop the strategy of rural vitalisation and promote global sustainable development, the Rural Light Brand Project will be established for the next conference. This ongoing campaign strives to build a ‘Global Rural Tourism Oscar.’

The campaign for the Rural Light brand project is divided into Higher Brand Project and Sub-brand Project which include five higher brand projects, three innovative brand projects, three popular brand projects, three dedicated brand projects, and one special honour brand project. The campaign for Higher Brand Project requires that participating projects:

  1. Have the greatest influence from a continent and/or a country as the global rural tourism brand,

  2. Have the highest proportion of annual income from rural tourism in the world from a continent and/or a country, and

  3. Its global rural tourism can rapidly drive the development of rural sustainable industries from a continent and/or a country.

The campaign for Sub-brand Projects requires that innovative brand projects (at the government level) should create a unique system, policy, and planning development in the field of rural tourism development government. Products of popular brand project (for the level of scenic spots) should be excellent, popular, and profitable in the field of rural tourism industry development. Dedicated brand project (for individuals) should drive the development of rural tourism and people's livelihood, be diligent in charity, and be aspirational for the industry. Special honour brand project (for groups or individuals) should make a significant contribution to influence the history of rural tourism’s development.

The conference regularly promoted the project throughout the network, vote nationwide, and set up interactive activities such as voting incentives to boost the participation. The shortlisted brand projects and characters are given exposures and opportunities to introduce their projects online through the official website of the World Rural Tourism Conference. These projects are currently still open for voting.
