Punjab, India, 22 October 2024 – PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter in collaboration with Yuva Tourism Society Club to Promote Sustainable Development through Creativity and Awareness
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 15th October 2024 - In celebration of World Tourism Day, the PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter hosted a thought-provoking forum titled “Tourism For Peace” at the Graduate Lounge, ELM Graduate School, HELP University. The event featured His Highness Tunku Dato' Seri (Dr.) Iskandar bin Tunku Abdullah as the keynote speaker, with Ms. Rajesvare, the Club Advisor, moderating the session, and the club’s Chairperson, Izeyan@Izzy with the Vice-Chairperson, Ye Htet Aung@Elvis, as the emcees of the event.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 4th October 2024 - PATA India Christ University Student Chapter in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Management at Christ (Deemed to be University) organized a lecture on “Tourism for Community”, on October 4th at the Seminar Hall, Bannerghatta Road Campus. Mr Sumesh Mangalassery was the resource person, He is the Chairman and managing director at Kabani Community Tourism and Services. Mr. Sumesh shared with us his knowledge of the advantages of community-based tourism. He explained the different community-based projects he is now managing. He also emphasized the role that women play in the highest positions in the tourism business, which inspired us to enter the profession. Along with addressing the problems and difficulties faced by the locals who partake in this type of tourism, he also focused on the mannerisms of both the locals and visitors. He covered various key aspects of Community-based tourism in the development of pride among tourists regarding the local culture and environment. When tourists engage with authentic traditions, crafts, and stories, they cultivate a deeper appreciation for the community's heritage, fostering a respectful and meaningful connection.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 10th September 2024 - PATA India Christ University Student Chapter hosted the highly anticipated two-day event, Alta Vista International on the theme “BEYOND THE NORMS”. The event welcomed participation from four Student Chapters representing universities from around the globe, including PATA Philippines LPU-Manila Student Chapter, PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter, PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter, and PATA India IIM Sirmaur Student Chapter. The event was organized to foster collaboration and creativity among students while providing them with hands-on experience in tourism management. Through two intense rounds, participants were tasked with innovative problem-solving related to the tourism industry and national development.
Punjab, India, 25th September 2024 – PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter organised a “Cycle Rally” to Celebrate World Tourism Day 2024 which was focused to Promote Good Health and Well-being, Clean Energy, and Climate Action.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 30th September - 1st October 2024 - PATA India Christ University Student Chapter, in collaboration with DTORR, hosted the "Sustainable Tourism Case Study" event as part of a broader academic initiative. This event was a key segment of the Student Conclave 2024, a platform designed to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and innovation among students from top institutions across India. The conclave focused on driving conversations around sustainable practices, ethical leadership, and responsible business models in tourism and other industries.
Bangkok, Thailand, 26 September 2024 - The PATA Thailand Chapter, in collaboration with IT&CM Asia and CTW (Asia-Pacific Corporate Travel World), hosted a compelling event titled "PATA Power of Networking: Beyond Borders - The New Era of Visa-Free Travel"on Thursday, 26th of September 2024. Held at the Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, this gathering attracted key industry professionals eager to explore the impacts of visa-free travel on tourism and economic growth.
Bangkok, Thailand, 19 September 2024 - The PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter was honoured to collaborate in the International Youth Peace Day event, held at KMITL, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, and organized by KMITL’s IGEN Club. This special event provided a platform for fostering peace, sustainability, and youth engagement, and we were proud to be part of it.
Bangkok, Thailand, 10 September 2024 - The PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter participated online in the Alta competition hosted by Christ University on September 9th and 10th, 2024. The event focused on Tourism and Sustainability, where the chapter earned the position of first runner-up, showcasing their expertise and innovation.
Bangkok, Thailand, 29 August 2024 - The PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter recently celebrated remarkable milestones at the PATA Travel Mart 2024. Our chapter was honored with the “Award of Excellence 2024” during the PATA Power of Networking Night, while our distinguished professor, Karnchana Phakpho, received the notable PATA Face of the Future 2024 recognition for her outstanding work in strategic management.
Bangkok, Thailand, 26 - 29 August 2024 - PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter participated as volunteer students at the PATA Travel Mart 2024 held from August 26-29. The event, hosted in Bangkok, served as a key platform for networking and learning within the travel and tourism industry.
The PATA Travel Mart 2024 was a significant gathering of professionals in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. As volunteer students from the PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter, we assisted in organizing various sessions, guiding delegates, and facilitating networking activities. The event brought together thousands of participants from across the globe, showcasing trends in sustainable tourism, digital transformation, and cultural preservation.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 20th August 2024 – PATA India Christ University Student Chapter, in collaboration with the University Student Council, conducted a session at Christ Junior College on the occasion of International Youth Day. The session aimed to equip the students with essential tools and ways to balance their academic pursuits with the development of their personalities. This initiative endeavored to equip the students with the requisite skills and abilities to achieve excellence in academics while sustaining a wholesome and rewarding lifestyle.
Punjab, India, 21st August 2024 - The Exclusive Launch of the PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter was a grand success, beginning an exciting journey towards promoting sustainable tourism and responsible practices. The event, held in the university’s auditorium, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Honourable Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Prof. (Dr.) Manpreet Singh Manna Sir, along with renowned leading Travel Entrepreneurs Mr Prashant Daroch from Holiday Hub and Mr Soundar Rajan from HighQ Tourism.
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, 9 August 2024 - PATA India Christ University Student Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Management, Christ University, hosted an insightful guest lecture on "Innovative Technology Solutions - GDS." The session was conducted by Mrs. Anu Antony, Accounts Receivable Specialist II at Sabre, a leading travel technology company. Mrs. Antony provided an in-depth exploration of Global Distribution Systems (GDS), a key technology in the travel and tourism industry. The lecture covered the latest advancements in GDS, its role in streamlining travel operations, and how it facilitates seamless connectivity between travel service providers and consumers.
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, 8th August 2024 - PATA India Christ University Student Chapter, in collaboration with students from the Master of Travel and Tourism Management, Department of Tourism Management, Christ University, organised an enriching field visit to Cubbonpete, a renowned hub of traditional handloom in Bengaluru. The visit was part of the National Handloom Day celebrations, offering students a firsthand experience of the intricate process of handloom weaving. The visit allowed the students to engage with local weavers, understand their challenges, and appreciate the artistry behind each handwoven fabric. The tour included demonstrations of traditional weaving techniques, providing valuable insights into the cultural significance and the meticulous craftsmanship of these beautiful textiles.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 4 August, 2024 - PATA India Christ University Student Chapter organised a field visit to Ragikana at Sri Ramakrishna Samagra Shikshana Kendra, Bengaluru. The event offered a unique opportunity to experience the rich legacy of Indian handlooms, featuring weavers from Gajendragada, Mahalingapura, and Kinhala in North Karnataka. The students witnessed Ambar Charaka spinning and weaving demonstrations, along with a rare block printing workshop showcasing 35 different types of blocks. The event also displayed authentic traditional sarees, garments, and fabrics from 15 reputed handloom brands, highlighting the craftsmanship and dedication of the weavers.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 3rd August 2024 - PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter in collaboration with the Masters of Tourism and Travel Management recently partnered with Breakthrough to host an exhilarating outbound training workshop designed to challenge students and foster personal growth through dynamic activities. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for participants to confront their fears, discover their strengths, and gain valuable life lessons in a fun and interactive environment.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 31st July 2024- On 27th July 2024, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter organized a Durian Hunting Event at Indigo Durian Station, Taman Selayang. We met just in there at 1pm and we started having durians until 2 pm. There were altogether 4 people who participated, and all are from PATAMHUSC and HELP University. The aim of organizing this activity is to explore and try the different types of durians in Malaysia.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 16th July 2024 - PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter organized a vibrant celebration for World Environment Day on July 16th, 2024, at the Christ University Bannerghatta Road campus. The event featured an engaging treasure hunt and an exciting quiz, designed to raise awareness and promote sustainability among students. The treasure hunt, which took participants across the lush campus, encouraged them to discover hidden eco-friendly practices and learn about environmental conservation interactively.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 13th July 2024 - PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Management at Christ (Deemed to be University) celebrated its Talent hunt, “Milan 2024,” on July13 th at the Mini Auditorium, Bannerghatta Road Campus. The recently concluded Milan 2024 event at Christ University saw enthusiastic participation from both freshers and senior students, marking a significant occasion that fostered camaraderie and talent discovery. The event featured a diverse array of activities including a Tourism quiz, reel making, creative writing, solo singing, and Language Maestro, where freshers enthusiastically showcased their skills and creativity. The atmosphere was both thought-provoking and entertaining, providing freshers with an excellent platform to display their talents and earn recognition. Milan 2024 not only created strong bonds between seniors and juniors but also unveiled hidden talents among the participants. The highlight of the event was the award ceremony where winners were honoured with plants, symbolizing growth and achievement, followed by a memorable photo session capturing the spirit of togetherness and success. Organized meticulously, Milan 2024 ensured a day filled with fun, healthy competition, and meaningful interactions, reinforcing the bonds within the Christ University community. This event underscored the university’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering enduring relationships among its students.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 11th July 2024 - On 30th March, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter organized an Eco Candle-Making-Workshop. We conducted the event at Taman Tugu Nursery Park. The aim of the event was to raise awareness among participants about recycling options for used cooking oil, one of which is making eco-friendly candles. Participants included students from the Tourism and Business Departments, along with our beloved club advisor, Ms Rajes, and her friend.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10th July 2024 - On 30th September 2023, the annual World Tourism Day mini-expo was organised in collaboration with the Malaysia Association of Hotels (MAH) and various industry partners, including national and international schools at the multi purpose hall in Subang 2 Campus. Present was Dr. Alice Lim, Mr. Azis, Mr. Syahir and Ms. Rajesvare from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Department.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10th July 2024 - On Wednesday, 27th March 2024, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter organized a visit to Ramadan Bazaar. We visited the Ramadan Bazaar at TTDI. We invited all the PATAMHUSC members and some HELP University students. The aim of organizing this visit is to explore the fasting practice among Muslims in Malaysia, seek the diverse foods from different origins in Malaysia and try the varieties of Malaysian foods.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10th July 2024 -On Wednesday, 14th January, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter joined a Thaipusam experience. PATAMHUSC members walked with the silver chariot from Jalan Ipoh to Batu Caves, immersing themselves in Hindu and Indian cultures throughout the event. This activity helped promote intercultural understanding and showcased the richness of Malaysian culture, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10th July 2024 - The Crossroads of Culture was a collaboration event between us (PATAMHUSC) and the HELP University Toastmasters Club. It was successfully conducted on 8th November 2023, the venue selected was Function Room 2 of our Wisma CL campus. The performances consisted of singing, reciting poetry, traditional art crafts teaching, traditional art performance, and musical instrument performance.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 8th July 2024 - On 6th July, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter organized a Riverine Cleaning in collaboration with THE HUB (University of Derby) and Alliance of River Three. We conducted the event at Friends of Sungai Klang Taman Melawati River Three, Jalan Melawati 5 from 9:30am until 11:30am. There were altogether 18 people who participated, and all were from HELP University students, PATAMHUSC, THE HUB and Alliance of River Three. The aim of organizing this activity is to explore and get the knowledge of why the sustainability of green culture is important and how the irresponsible littering of non-biodegradable items impacts the natural environment.
Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, India, 11st July 2024 - IIM Sirmaur hosted its first Industry Advisory Board 1.0 panel discussion on 08 July 23, focusing on "Investing in Prosperity: Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Tourism." The panel featured Mr. Manoj Samuel, Mr. Chirag Aggarwal, Mr. Kanwar Deep Singh, and our faculty member Dr. Mohita Gangwar Sharma. These three industry leaders are part of the 12-member Industry Advisory Board, which provides suggestions to enhance the MBA TM course and prepare participants for the industry.
Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 4th July 2024 - PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter in collaborationwith the University Student Council organised “Campus Compass” on 4th July 2024. This engaging event aimed to popularise the Student Chapter, boost student engagement, and strengthen the sense of community and collaboration among students. Attracting over 250 attendees, Campus Compass featured various interactive sessions, informative presentations, and dedicated networking opportunities. These elements were all designed to foster a vibrant and collaborative student environment, encouraging participation and engagement in chapter activities. The event’s success highlights the tourism department’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 18th June 2024 - On Friday, the 14th, PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter organized a Welcome Party for the term of 2024/2025. We did the event at one of the School of Hospitality and Tourism’s classrooms. We invited lecturers from our department and a few students who are non-members too. The aim of organizing this Welcome Party was to get-in-touch with the members, give more exposure about PATA to the members and non-members and to let the newly appointed Chairperson, Nur Izeyan, to share her experience in PATA Annual Summit 2024.
Hanoi, Vietnam, February 1, 2024 - PATA BUV Student Chapter, the student-led organization at British University Vietnam, hosted the "CreaTET: The Flow of Ink Workshop" event to promote the special activity at Lunar New Year for Vietnamese people.
