Through their grassroots activism and activities, PATA Chapters and Student Chapters play an integral part in fulfilling the objectives of the Association. These awards highlight their voluntary efforts in supporting the Association’s values in working towards the responsible development of the travel and tourism industry.

BEST SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
SPIRIT OF PATA
Awarded to the Chapter that consistently and progressively demonstrates its commitments to, and best embodies the aims and objectives of PATA over the past five years.
BEST SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
Awarded to the Chapter and Student Chapter whose activities over the past year have demonstrated excellent support for sustainability, social responsibility, the environment and the responsible development of the tourism industry.
BEST ENGAGEMENT
WITH YOUNG TOURISM PROFESSIONALS
Awarded to the Chapter that best supports local young tourism professionals and tourism institution activities during the previous year, in a manner consistent with the aims and objectives of PATA.
AWARD OF
EXCELLENCE
Awarded to the Chapter and Student Chapter whose activities over the past year best exemplifies dedication to the development of the travel and tourism industry within the Pacific Asia region, in a manner consistent with the aims and objectives of PATA.

Activities/projects implemented by an individual Chapter or Student Chapter are only eligible if:
Individual Chapter consist of minimum 10 good-standing PATA International member organisations OR Student Chapter that is an educational institution member of PATA International
Initiatives implemented during the calendar year from July to June.
Initiatives implemented or sponsored by the Chapter
Initiatives implemented by PATA headquarters or a PATA regional office in collaboration with a Chapter
Submitted initiatives will be cross-verified with Chapter and Student Chapters' news releases submitted to PATA International on PATA.org
(Non-reported initiatives will not be taken into consideration for the award.)
Activities/projects may relate to all facets of Chapter/Student Chapter activities including research, development, education, training, heritage or environmental conservation, inter-chapter relations, workshops, seminars, trade shows, exhibitions, promotions, advertising, communications, public relations, scholarships and community relations.
Chapters/Student Chapters with a strong commitment to sustainable development generally, and responsible tourism specifically, will receive priority.

The judges will look for:
Clearly stated (measurable) objectives of activities/projects
General (Measurable) impact (outputs) of the project(s)
Follow-up (Monitoring & Evaluation) to determine the project's effectiveness outcomes / impacts
Organisational efficiency, professional execution and quality of operation
Self-reliance in funding
Volunteer involvement in implementation (if applicable)
