Theerapat Trungprakan (Pat) is the Founder and CEO of the Patara Elephant Farm, a family-run conservation project that specialises in health recovery and breeding management for domestic elephants. He is also the President of the Thai Elephant Alliance Association (TEAA), a collaborative network set up to support the elephant conservation​ attempts of private elephant​ owners​ in Thailand. The organisation​ links every​ source of knowledge and facilities to increase​ the quality of healthcare and​ welfare​ for domesticated​ elephants​ and people involved. From year 2020 and beyond, TEAA together with it’s partners are transforming Thailand Elephant Tourism towards Elephant healthcare-based Tourism, which will be an opportunity for tourism stakeholders around the world to play a part and support elephant conservation attempts of those caregivers who work on the ground to keep the elephant population sustainable.
