Overview:

The travel and tourism industry can play a critical role in achieving the objectives at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in particular the commitments to gender equality and the empowerment of women (Sustainable Development Goal 5). Nevertheless, while women make up the majority of the tourism workforce, the World Economic Forum found that only 10% of CEOs are women, and women make up only 15% of senior management.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is organising a special webinar on developing women leaders in travel. This friendly conversation between PATA CEO Liz Ortiguera and Andrew Chan, CEO, ACI HR Solutions, will examine the current state of the industry in regards to gender equality and address how the industry can help empower the next generation of women leaders to build a more equitable travel and tourism industry.
