Located on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast, the Ancient City of Side is a historical gem in Antalya’s Manavgat district. Once a thriving port of Pamphylia, Side dates back to the 7th century BC and flourished under Greek, Roman, and Byzantine rule. Its well-preserved ruins, including the State Agora, offer a glimpse into its rich past as a major trade and cultural hub.

Visitors can explore the grand Side Theatre, unique for its Roman architectural style, and the stunning Temple of Apollo, which overlooks the sea. Other highlights include the State Agora, the monumental fountain, the city walls, and the colonnaded streets that lead to ancient bathhouses and basilicas. These landmarks create a fascinating open-air museum experience.

Beyond history, Side offers lively bazaars, waterfront cafés, and pristine beaches perfect for relaxation. The city’s charming blend of ancient and modern makes it a top destination for culture and leisure. Sunset at the Temple of Apollo is a must-see, providing breathtaking views over the Mediterranean.

Side is open for visits year-round, with extended summer hours. Entry is free, with additional access granted by the MuseumPass Türkiye. During the summer, Side may be visited after sunset as part of the Night Museum Project.
