PATA Micronesia Chapter, 31 May 2023 - Thursday, May 25, 2023 - (Guam) Early Thursday, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center reported that the storm, which was the most powerful to hit the island in decades, hit Guam with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph and gusts up to 165 mph.

This is equivalent to a Category 4 hurricanes. Guam’s residents are grappling with the aftermath of Super Typhoon Mawar, which brought hurricane-force winds and heavy rainfall that caused damage, closure of the Guam International Airport, water supply issues, and widespread power outages on Guam.

Chairman Ruluked’s Message, 31 May 2023 - In the wake of Super Typhoon Mawar, we want to offer our support to those affected. Even small gestures of kindness can make a significant difference in helping with recovery and rebuilding. On behalf of The Board of Directors and Committees of PATA Micronesia, I would like to extend out deepest and sincerest One MicrONESia Spirit to those impacted by this disaster. We understand the difficulties that come with this type of event and want you to know that we stand with you in solidarity during these trying times. Our hearts go out to you and we are here to offer out love and support in any way possible as you begin the rebuilding process.
