Developing ‘Suvarnabhumi’ into the Nation’s first Thai green airport with the investment in solar cells to create renewable energy at the airport and it is expected to reduce the cost of electricity by 20-30% each month. Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) reveals plans to drive Suvarnabhumi Airport as a Green Airport. This project is currently under supervision to use electricity from renewable energy sources within 4 years and set a goal to use electric cars at the airport to comply with the sustainable airport scheme.

AOT to invest B7.4 bn for the expansion of the construction in 4 major airports, estimating that domestic flight will fully recover at the beginning of 2024. Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) sets to expand the construction of several airports: Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, Phuket Airport, Chiang Mai Airport to reduce the congestion of travelers. Further, it also aims to raise the airway service rating of Suvarnabhumi Airport to be aligned with international standards to welcome travelers globally.
