Gender Equality and Development
Accelerating progress in gender equality in the Asia Pacific is one of the seven operational priorities in ADB's Strategy 2030, and it recognises that gender equality is critical in its own right and in helping realise socioeconomic development. Under Strategy 2030, ADB scaled up its support for gender equality outcomes in the region through targeted operations to empower women and girls and through gender mainstreaming in five areas: economic empowerment, human development, decision-making and leadership, time poverty reduction, and resilience to external shocks.
