David Fowler

Vice President and Head, Cross-Border & Sales Excellence- Asia Pacific, Visa

David Fowler heads the Asia Pacific Cross-Border business unit as well as the Sales Excellence team in Asia based in Singapore, he reports to the President of Visa Asia Pacific.

David has had a diverse global career with over 25 years of experience in cards and payments. His experience in the industry spans roles across card acquiring, issuing, co-brand, country management, global account management, product, sales and business operations and cross-border payments.

During his career, David has worked for the global leaders in the banking cards and payments industry, including positions at NatWest Streamline (now World Pay); Visa London, GE Money Australia as National Sales Leader and Citibank Australia as Head of Co-brand and Business Development. Finally, re-joining Visa in 2007.

Prior to starting his current role in 2018, David ran the HSBC Global Account from Hong Kong. He has had other varied roles prior including Head of Debit for SEA, Head of Debit for India the Middle East and Africa, Head of Sales/Country Manager of Singapore and large client roles in Australia and UK.

David was born in Malaysia, grew up in Hong Kong and was educated in the UK. He has worked in London, Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong and twice in Singapore.

David has a degree in Biological Sciences from Exeter University UK. He is married, a father to a 4-year-old daughter Lexi and has rescued 10 dogs in his life so far.
