The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) of Indonesia appointed Irfan Setiaputra as President & CEO of national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia on January 22, 2019. The appointment Irfan Setiaputra as a President & CEO Garuda Indonesia inline with government focus to improve governance and financial performance of the companies.

Previously, Irfan Setiaputra served as INTI President Director from 2009 to 2012. In addition, he also had stints as CEO of PT Titan Mining Indonesia (2012-2014), COO of PT ABM Investama Tbk (2015-2016), President Director of PT Cipta Kridatama (2014-2017), and President Director of PT Reswara Minergi Hartama (2017). Prior to joining Garuda, he served as CEO of Sigfox Indonesia.

The 1989 graduate of Bandung Institute of Technology, facing a plethora of challenging factor when he was appointed as a President & CEO Garuda Indonesia in January 2019 when Covid-19 outbreak starting significantly impacted airlines industry. Amid the pandemic, Irfan Setiaputra shepherds Garuda Indonesia as a pivotal airline in distributing Covid-19 vaccine for Indonesia and came up with the idea "Mask Livery Campaign" to support health campaign by the government. In the midst of low traffic passenger, Irfan extensively focus or Cargo Market growth, by focusing on cargo flight route to support Indonesia's export commodity.

Armed with extensive experience in leading various companies, Irfan Setiaputra pulls out all the stops to restore Garuda Indonesia's image as bonafide airline.
