Ms. Agnes Luz has 30 years of international development experience across the globe. She has been Chief of Party of six USAID-funded projects in five different countries (Pakistan, Liberia, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and Nepal) for 13 years, ranging in size from $20 million to $75 million, covering agriculture, tourism, textiles/garments, ICT and light manufacturing sectors. She is currently the Chief of Party of the USAID Trade and Competitiveness in Nepal where Tourism is one of the priority sectors. She employs a market systems and value chains approach in programming that is market-driven; promoting competitiveness and engaging the private sector and local stakeholders and communities to ensure sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Trade and Competitiveness in Nepal supports the community homestays and destination development and management to promote unique experiences, encourage ownership of local communities/stakeholders and safeguard the environment while at the same time upgrade the value of Nepal as a destination of choice for travelers from all over the world.
