Mareike Bentfeld works as Advisor for the Global Initiative on Disaster Risk Management, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, since 2017. Mareike is responsible for the Asia component of the GIDRM focusing in particular on the topic of resilient critical infrastructure. She is a disaster risk management specialist with several years of experience working especially on comprehensive risk management, disaster and climate resilient tourism development and risk-informed decision-making. She obtained a B.Sc. in Psychology with a specialization in risk psychology and a M.A. in International Humanitarian Action.
