Somayyah Alshanbari

Vice President of Enterprise Excellence, Saudi Tourism Authority

Somayyah Alshanbari is the Vice President for Enterprise Excellence at the Saudi Tourism Authority. She is responsible for identifying high impact opportunities and risks within the organization that lead to effectiveness and efficiency improvement initiatives across divisions and functions, in addition to engaging process improvement projects to enable STA’s in achieving the tourism sector’s ambitions and encouraging a continuous improvement culture within the organization.

Somayyah led multiple roles and incubated various capabilities during the establishment phase of the Saudi Tourism Authority. She was also heavily involved in STA’s corporate strategy development and ensured full alignment with the national tourism strategy.

Previously, Somayyah served as an advisor at the Ministry of Economy and Planning where she led multiple special projects. Prior to that she was part of the health sector governance program within Ministry of Health.

Earlier in her career, she worked in multinational organizations where she held a number of roles including internal controls management, Fraud risk management as well as enterprise risk management.
