PATA Capilano University Student Chapter Holds Webinar in Collaboration with Contiki Holidays

Vancouver, Canada, 17th March 2021 - With eco-friendly travel and ecotourism popularity rising across the globe, consumers are looking for more sustainable ways to partake in tourism. Despite Capilano University’s current asynchronous learning setting due to COVID-19, the student chapter continues to host virtual events. The PATA Canada Vancouver Student Chapter’s dedicated executive members are still working diligently to produce quality events.

This webinar was hosted by Julia Moioli (a member of the PATA Canada Vancouver Student Chapter) and featured guest speaker Jenni Berg, Business Development Executive at Contiki Holidays. Jenni has been working with Contiki since 2010 and has developed a deep passion for sustainable travel. This made Jenni an incredible host during this one-hour and twenty-minute webinar.

In this webinar, Jeni brings her industry expertise to the table by sharing her experience with sustainability at Contiki. Jeni starts off by telling the webinar patrons about who Contiki is and what they do. This then led to a discussion on what Contiki offers its clients in terms of tours and ways they can work with Contiki in the future. Jeni spoke on how Contiki lowers their impact and what sort of resources they have on their website to help young travellers travel smarter. Many students over the course of the last year have questioned their choice to study tourism. However, Jeni shared her opinion on the idea that we, as graduating tourism students, will be in a great place once this industry opens up hopefully within the next year. Jeni gave the attendees a great amount of hope and excitement about the future of travel.
