PATA India Christ University Student Chapter: Sustainability Week

Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 7th March, 2025 – PATA India Christ University Student Chapter in collaboration with the SDG Cell and the International Relations Club of the Department of International Studies, Political Science, and History, conducted Sustainability Week 2025, a dynamic and engaging event aimed at promoting Sustainable Tourism and Global Responsibility. The event engaged students in a series of activities centered around the theme “ Sustainable Pathways: Travel, Culture and Conservation,” aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event featured poster presentations where students showcase their innovative ideas on sustainable tourism practices and entrepreneur stalls where students can learn about the local businesses and how they are committed to a green future by using reusable, biodegradable, and other ethical alternatives. Interactive games have engaged participants in hands-on learning, promoting collaboration and awareness about sustainability.

The event offered an invaluable opportunity for students to explore the interconnectedness of tourism, culture, and environmental conservation. By engaging with local businesses such as Hosa Belaku, which offers eco-friendly bags and upcycled products, and Tejaswini Shetty, who promotes eco-friendly bags and books, participants got a better understanding of how small businesses are contributing to a green future. The inclusion of businesses like Canasu Fragrances, which offers water-based fragrances, also highlights how eco-conscious entrepreneurs are reshaping industries to align with sustainability principles. The students had the opportunity to engage in critical conversations around responsible tourism, global cooperation, and environmental conservation, creating a meaningful platform for learning, innovation, and networking.
