PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter: Crossroads of Culture PATAMHUSC X HUTMC

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10th July 2024 - The Crossroads of Culture was a collaboration event between us (PATAMHUSC) and the HELP University Toastmasters Club. It was successfully conducted on 8th November 2023, the venue selected was Function Room 2 of our Wisma CL campus. The performances consisted of singing, reciting poetry, traditional art crafts teaching, traditional art performance, and musical instrument performance.

We were blessed to be sponsored by Tanjak Adventure & Tour Travel Agency, HardRock Cafe KL, and the KL Bird Park for our prizes.

Relation to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities The Crossroads of Culture event aligns with SDG 10 by promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity. By bringing together diverse forms of art and performance from various cultural backgrounds, the event provided a platform for underrepresented voices and talents. This not only celebrated the richness of different cultures but also fostered mutual understanding and respect among participants and attendees, contributing to the reduction of social and cultural inequalities.

SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions The event also supports SDG 16 by promoting peaceful and inclusive societies. Through artistic expression and cultural exchange, the Crossroads of Culture event encouraged dialogue and cooperation among individuals from different backgrounds. This fosters a sense of community and solidarity, essential for building peaceful societies. Additionally, the involvement of various sponsors and the collaborative effort between PATAMHUSC and the HELP University Toastmasters Club exemplify strong institutional partnerships and community engagement.

Overall, the Crossroads of Culture event was not just a celebration of cultural heritage but also a meaningful contribution to the global efforts of reducing inequalities and promoting peaceful, inclusive societies.
